Found October 16, 2012 on State of the Texans:
After the season ending injury to defensive end Tim Jamison, the Houston Texans have promoted rookie defensive lineman David Hunter from the practice squad. Hunter was signed as an undrafted free agent from the University of Houston (Waller H.S.) and he impressed in training camp to earn a spot with the team. At times, he worked both defensive end and nose tackle for the Texans during camp and preseason. He tips the scale at 306 lbs. and has a good frame for interior play. It would not be surprising to see him active on game days and worked in when needed behind J.J. Watt, Antonio Smith and fellow rookie Jared Crick. With the open practice squad spot, the Texans signed defensive tackle Lamar Divens to the practice squad.   You can follow Patrick on Twitter.  He is the Editor of State of the Texans.

Houston Texans lose first game at hands of Green Bay Packers, 42-24

The national spotlight has not been kind to the Houston Texans of late, playing a close game last week on Monday Night Football, and now suffering their first defeat of the 2012 campaign to the Green Bay Packers 42-24 on Sunday Night Football. The Texans were bound to lose eventually, it’s just unfortunate their first loss came in embarrassing fashion on national television. And...

Texans implode as unbeaten streak ends

HOUSTON If you needed to joke about the Houston Texans being overwhelmed, undisciplined or discombobulated in a 42-24 loss to the Green Bay Packers Sunday at Reliant Stadium, they gave you plenty of material. There's the one about Arian Foster twice getting tackled by nothing more than the grass under his feet. Happened to Ben Tate once, too. There was the one about the third...

Johnathan Joseph is day-to-day with a sore groin

According to Nick Sucrfield of HoustonTexans.com, cornerback Johnathan Joseph is day-to-day with a sore groin. He should be sore after getting lit up by Aaron Rodgers last night.Joseph should be fine for this week’s game against the Ravens.

AFC South week in review: Does anybody know what's going on out there?

Only in the wild and wacky NFL could we have a week like this past one. The Colts, fresh off their most inspirational win in awhile, came out flat as a pancake against the New York Jets. The Tennessee Titans, left for dead after bumbling their way to another loss in Minnesota, somehow took down the Pittsburgh Steelers at home. And strangest of all, the previously undefeated Houston...

Texans' offense struggled in 1st loss of season

HOUSTON (AP) -- The Houston Texans scored at least 27 points in each of their first four games, all impressive victories. The offense hasn't operated quite as smoothly in the last two games, and looked sloppy in Sunday night's 42-24 loss to Green Bay. Matt Schaub was sacked three times and threw two interceptions, Arian Foster was held to 29 yards rushing and the Texans...

Texans brace for playoff rematch with Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens will get no sympathy from the Houston Texans about their devastating injuries on defense. The Texans and Ravens are 5-1 and tied for the best record in the AFC going into Sunday's game at Reliant Stadium. The Baltimore defense will be without cornerback Lardarius Webb (torn ACL) and inside linebacker Ray Lewis (torn triceps). The Texans know how the Ravens...

Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans: Three Bold Predictions

Running back Ray Rice rushed...

Week 7 Power Rankings: Texans on shaky ground but maintain top spot

The NFL is a reactionary league. With only 16 games on the schedule, each one matters and its hard not to overreact to what is, in reality, a small sample size. Teams (like the Arizona Cardinals, say) can go from perceived legitimate contenders to nobodies overnight (a loss to the Bills tends to have that …

Texans DE Jamison, Green Bay LB Perry injured

Texans defensive end Tim Jamison left Sunday night's game against Green Bay with a right Achilles injury and the team said he would not return. The 6-foot-3, 285-pound Jamison played in each of the Texans' first five games, backing up J.J. Watt. Jamison had nine tackles, including a sack, and a deflected pass this season. Packers linebacker Nick Perry left in the second...
