In a not-so-shocking move, David Wilson has been named the Giants starting running back (Credit: AP Photo) In a move that came as a surprise to no one, David Wilson has been named the New York Giants starting running back today. The 2012 first round pick by the Giants had 358 yards on 71 attempts last year. Wilson also had 4 receptions, 1 receiving touchdown and 4 rushing touchdowns. Wilson has been presumed to be the Giants starting running back after Ahmed Bradshaw was cut by the team this off-season. Even though Wilson has been named the starter, it sounds as though head coach Tom Coughlin expects to use him in a platoon with Andre Brown. “We expect [Wilson] to be our starter, and be in the backfield with Andre Brown, who had a terrific season going last year until he got hurt,” Reese said. “[Brown's] had the injury bug a little bit since he’s been in the league. But if he can stay healthy, and David Wilson comes on like we expect him too, we think we can have a pretty dynamic backfield.” The perception of Wilson is that he cannot block and has a problem with fumbles. If he expects to get more carries he will have to fix the problems that got him benched last season. Still, Wilson has big play maker ability and the speed to turn any play into a big play. In terms of a fantasy impact, Wilson should get plenty of yards but have his touchdown plundered from him in the red zone. I have to give Giants co-owner Steve Tisch some credit.  He never gets annoyed by TMZ bothering him and always answers their questions with a smile. Giants Co-Owner Steve Tisch Says ‘Hard Knocks’ Is ‘Misleading,’ Not in ‘Players’ Best Interest’ (Video)

Years ago, New York football Giants co-owner John Mara said that his team would appear on HBO’s Hard Knocks “when I’m next to my father in Gates of Heaven cemetery.” Though the Giants’ other owner is a bit more thoughtful, the aversion to the docudrama is apparently shared throughout the organization. TMZ’s cameras recently caught up with Steve Tisch, who handed the harassment...

When studying the 2013 roster for the New York Giants, there are several candidates that might be primed for a "breakout season."  The common choice for this distinction amongst analysts and pundits is second-year running back David Wilson who dazzled us with his impressive quickness in 2012, mostly displayed while returning kickoffs.  With the release of starting running...

Jets, Giants seek answers in annual preseason tilt

When the NFL chose the Giants and Jets to host the 2014 Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium, there was some wishful thinking in the area that the locals might somehow find a way to play in the first cold-weather title game in the modern era.
