The New York Giants have released a statement regarding the health of running back David Wilson and his injured neck.
The good news is that Wilson’s neck is getting better, but he’s not ready to get back on the field.
Running back David Wilson, who has been sidelined with a herniated disc in his neck since October 6, underwent an MRI today at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan. Wilson was also re-evaluated by team physicians Dr. Russell Warren and Dr. Frank Cammisa.
The determination was made that while there has been significant improvement with the herniation, Wilson is still not clear to resume football activities. Wilson will undergo another evaluation in several weeks.
Even though the Giants will have to activate Andre Brown this week, it doesn’t look like Wilson will be placed on injured reserve yet.

For a couple of minutes Sunday afternoon, the bye week almost turned into a bonanza for the New York Giants.
Sitting in front of their televisions, everything was going right.
Dallas was losing to Minnesota 23-20 and had 90 yards to go to take the lead. Washington was up three against San Diego late, but the Chargers had the ball at the Redskins 1 with a first-and-goal.
A lot of people are thinking this, but not many are saying it publicly.
Antrel Rolle isn’t one to bite his tongue though.

The Giants could be getting some much-needed help at running back as early as this Sunday. Andre Brown is likely to be reactivated in time to see action against the Raiders at the Meadowlands. Is it too little, too late?

In July 2002, Jeremy Shockey, then a rookie tight end with the New York Giants, entered a locker room full of veterans as the hotshot first-round pick with a BCS title on his resume and flowing blond hair bouncing out of his helmet. Time might be running out for Coach Coughlin. While it may be too late for the Giants to salvage their season, it certainly isn't too late for our head coach to save his job.
