An unavoidable -- and last-minute -- professional conflict popped up last night, which meant my plans to watch the only preseason game I could see live went right out the window.Sort of like all those happy thoughts after the Eagles looked thoroughly dominant on both sides of the ball against Jacksonville.Honestly, though, the Eagles didn't look all that bad. They just couldn't control the line-of-scrimmage on either side of the ball, which undermines everything else you try to do. On the defensive side, that continues the trend of what we saw last year. If the Eagles don't blitz -- if they just line up the front four and go after you -- they're not dominant up front. So in a preseason game, when the schemes are pretty vanilla, that's what you're going to see.On the offensive side, I'm not sure what to think.
