MVN Cowboys:
Each Friday, given we have the time, we plan to predict the Redskins game and the other NFC East team games, right here at DCPSR. Probably be eating a ton of crow come Mondays, but hey, that's what were here for. WE ENCOURAGE YOU, our readers, to give us your picks too, RIGHT HERE IN COMMENTS. (Click on Discuss at bottom of the post under tags). Included here are prediction from myself owner of DCPSR, Spence, my partner owner, Matt Kyer, the Admin at our forum partner, theWarpath.net, and SmootSmack, a moderator at theWarpath.netGAME ONE: Washington Redskins at New York GiantsPennSkinsFan: I'm calling the upset right here, and no, it isn't a homer pick, but more of a gut check pick. The Redskins are a better football team beyond what they were last season. Several games last year the Redskins gave away. They are better on defense with Albert Haynesworth, full season from DeAngelo Hall, and Brian Orakpo. They are improved on the offensive line with a better Stephon Heyer and the addition of Derrick Dockery. Plus, another thing driving my upset pick is I think the Redskins will finally see return on the two second round investments into Maloclm Kelly and Devin Thomas. They will help guide the Redskins to an upset win. Redskins 23 - Giants 21. Spence: This game should be a lot closer than most pundits think. The Redskins offensive line has improved and the Giants defensive line hasn't built up much continuity due to a rash of injuries during August. Defensive additions by the Redskins and the absence of Plaxico Burress should make it tougher for the Giants to run roughshod over the Redskins the way they did -- twice -- last year. Nevertheless, the Giants are a very good team and are playing at home. Giants 20 - Redskins 17SmootSmack (Moderator, TheWarpath.net) Am I a little biased here? Sure. This is a golden opportunity for the Redskins though. The wild card in in this game is going to be Kevin Boss. If the Redskins can keep him relatively ineffective, a tall task given their linebackers' suspect pass coverage abilities, I think they pull off the upset. Giants will force Malcolm Kelly to make plays...and I say he does. The problem in this game is, Tampa is not overrated. They just stink. And that means a Dallas wins on an easy opener, even on the road. I would love nothing more than to see Dallas fall 0-1 in Tampa Bay, but I just don't see it happening. Part of the problem here is, Tampa has absolutely no offense that threatens anyone. Cowboys 27 Bucs 14 Spence: The Cowboys will struggle to match last season's win total, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers faded terribly last year and have a new coach, new offense and new quarterback. They won't win many games this season, including this one. Cowboys 24 - Buccaneers 10 SmootSmack: How is Tampa going to score any points? Leftwich to Winslow? Meanwhile, the Cowboys could probably spot the Bucs a few players on offense with all the weapons they have. The Bucs will stay in some games this year, because of their sliding, yet still effective defense. But this won't be one of those games. Cowboys 21 - Bucs 3CBS Sportsline Experts: 4-2 DAL

USA Today Experts: 8-0 DALYahoo Sports: 3-0 DALSunday Countdown: 3-1 DALGAME THREE: Philadelphia at Carolina
PennSkinsFan: Carolina has a potent rushing attack with DeAngelo Williams and Johnathan Stewart. Stewart is listed as questionable. No one will argue that Philly has the offensive weapons to put up points. Somehow I think Stewart plays, Williams and Stewart will run well, it is in Carolina, so I go with Carolina in a tight one. Panthers 24 Eagles 23Spence: This should be a very good battle, with a power running team taking on a finesse west coast offense team. The Panthers need Jake Delhomme to bounce back from his historic playoff meltdown and I think he will, at least initially. This game could go either way, but I think the combo of Carolina's power rushing attack and at least one big deep catch by Steve Smith puts the Panthers over the top. Panthers 21 - Eagles 20 SmootSmack: Everyone's last memory of the Panthers is Delhomme throwing 5 picks in the playoffs. But the Panthers finished 12-4 last year, including 8-0 at home. And most of the team is returning. Even with Julius Peppers back, neither the Panthers nor the Eagles defense is anything to write home about this year. But give me Delhomme to Smith over McNabb to Jackson. Panthers 31 - Eagles 24CBS Sportsline Experts: 4-2 PHIL
