Although there were reports that the Jets were “close” to resigning veteran Marques Douglas, those reports are at this point are null and void. According to Manish, Douglas swam down south to play for the Tuna, signing a two year deal with the Miami Dolphins. The Daily News has learned that ex-Jet Marques Douglas has agreed to terms on a two-year deal for $2.5 million with the Miami Dolphins. The Jets, who lack quality depth along the defensive line, seemed to be a logical destination for the veteran free agent defensive end. Instead, Bill Parcells scooped him up for the Jets’ AFC East rivals, according to a source. Douglas, of course, was one of three defensive players Rex Ryan brought over from the Baltimore Ravens last season. He played in all 16 games with 12 starts for the Jets in 2009.
