The Tennessean reports today that DE William Hayes is a bit bigger these days, as he’s added 30 pounds to help in stopping the run this upcoming season.

Titans defensive end William Hayes is noticeably bigger these days. Heading into his third NFL season, Hayes has added more than 20 pounds to his 6-foot-3 frame and is now about 280 pounds. It should make him a lot sturdier in the run game. Hayes is expected to start at one of the end spots. “I had to gain some more weight, man,” said Hayes, who had 82 tackles and four sacks last season. “Weighing 255, that wasn’t for me. I am definitely a lot stronger, and the thing that’s big for me is I like to do a lot of bull rushing. And I don’t think I’ve had the weight and the power to do that in the past like I’ve wanted to. I don’t think I’ve lost any speed, but I’ve gained a lot more power.”
