We did a piece on DeAngelo Hall last week about how he was optimistic about the Redskins making the playoffs. We also said he was volatile, and on Tuesday he was just that. Hall lashed out at Washington Post beat writer Mike Jones for some comments he made in an article. Hall had to be restrained by the DBs coach Raheem Morris as he and Jones had a heated, profanity-laced shouting match. It happened in the hallway outside the Redskins Park locker room, and at least a dozen reporters witnessed the exchange. The dispute began last Thursday when reporters asked Hall about the $30,000 fine the NFL gave him for his referee confrontation. He yelled, “Back up off me, bro,” and would not comment. Hall disputed a quote that Jones attributed to him, and on Tuesday, Jones approached him with the audio tape of  his quote, Rich Campbell of the Washington Post reported, and that's when all hell broke loose. “I didn’t talk to y’all about that,” Hall said Thursday. “I don’t know where that quote came from. I never had a one-on-one meeting with nobody. I don’t know who asked that question or who reported – I think Mike [Jones] reported on it. I ain’t never had no one-on-one meeting with nobody over the bye week. We had a team meeting Tuesday. I left Tuesday to go out of town.” Here’s an excerpt from the article in question, it is the only exchange of information between the two written. Jones wrote: “Cornerback DeAngelo Hall said he and his fellow defensive backs came away from an improved sense of clarity and idea of what they need to do to improve.” Hall said: “Hopefully you’ll see it. Hopefully you’ll see it this week,” Hall had said on Wednesday. “You’ll see it through the rest of this season.” What that means we don’t know, but it meant something enough for a verbal shouting match. “They discussed this matter, and everything is worked out now,” team spokesman Tony Wyllie said. var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
