Dear Al,
Ok so I was thinking about this a lot recently and I think I have the perfect coach for the Raiders in 2009. Me, Jim Fassel. Let's take a look at this logically for a second.
#1. Nobody, and I mean nobody wants your job. You aren't going to get a good NFL coordinator, like Steve Spagnuolo, because they will take a better job or just wait it out on the good teams they currently coach for. You aren't going to get a solid coach looking to get back into the game like Bill Cowher or Steve Mariucci because they are getting paid good chunks of money and if they can't get a good job then they'll just enjoy another year of TV reporting. You're pretty much going to have to hire someone who is desperate or completely inexperienced who just jumps at the chance of seeing the words NFL Head Coach next to their name.
#2. Nobody, and I mean nobody is going to hire me. And I really really really superdooperly want to coach again. I have applied for basically every head coaching job for years now and nobody even gives me the chance. I don't know why, I brought the Giants to the Superbowl. That's not bad right? Why does nobody love me?
I just really want a job and since nobody wants the job on your team, I think it's a great fit.
Call Me,
Jim
