Dear Rob Chudzinski, Ray Horton, Norv Turner, Chris Tabor, and all Cleveland Browns players: I am a lifelong season ticket holder who goes to every home game. I watch all road games (other than my boycott job two weeks ago). I wear your gear. My kids wear your gear. No matter what has happened since 1999, I have stuck with you through thick and mostly thin. Regime change after regime change has been frustrating. But I still have not jumped ship and I won’t. With that said, you need to do something for me and and all other Cleveland fans tonight. I don’t ask you for much. We are a broken group today. Last night’s season ending Tribe loss in the AL Wild Card game has us all tired, bruised, and little beaten down. We came together as a city to get behind this Indians team for the first time in years. The city was abuzz. There was an electricity in downtown Cleveland like we haven’t seen since the heyday of the LeBron James era. But you have seen it before. You see it every single home game down at the lakefront. 78,000 plus come down to support you. But today of all days, we need a pick me up. Last week was terrific. The defensive effort was exactly what we expected when Joe Banner and company brought you over here, Ray. Norv, your offense really seems to flourish with Brian Hoyer under center and Josh Gordon back from suspension. Hopefully we can see more of the quality special teams play like what went down in Minnesota two weeks ago, Chris. Chud – whatever you are telling the players since the trade of Trent Richardson, give that same message. Tell those players in that room that the city needs them to come out with an A+ effort and performance tonight. Not only is it their one chance on National TV all year, but your fan base needs you tonight more than ever. The narrative in this city today is classic Cleveland – “well, the Tribe lost last night, so you know what will probably happen to the Browns.” Lets change all that, guys. Fire out of that locker room and provide the city a big win that is so desperately needed . Give us a reason to cheer again and put us back in a positive frame of mind. We know you can do it. We have seen it these last two weeks. But if there was ever a time when this town needed a strong performance and a big win, it is tonight. I promise I won’t ask you for anything the rest of the way. I just need this particular one. My wife also thanks you in advance. Sincerely, TD on behalf of Cleveland Sports fans everywhere
