Sixteen Eagles are scheduled to become free agents at the end of the league year in March. Here is a list of the players. Note that until there is a new Collective Bargaining Agreement there is no designation as to what type of free agents they will be. The players are listed below in alphabetical order. I’ve added my comments and suggestions. Feel free to debate me on any of these!
K David Akers – 12 years experience - Akers earned his fifth Pro Bowl nomination after leading all kickers in points (143) while ranking third in field goals (32). He connected on 84.2 percent of his field goal attempts and was also third in the league in touchbacks with a career-high 23. No reason not to keep him as he is the most tenured Eagles and kickers can be productive well into their 40s. However, he missed 41-yard and 26-yard FG against Green Bay in the Eagles playoff loss. I say keep him because most kickers are a dime a dozen. Then again, most kickers are a dime a dozen… KEEP
