New York Jets TE Dustin Keller told New York Daily News “I definitely feel that I’m a Pro Bowl tight end,”... “And I feel that will happen this year.”
Don't get us wrong, we like Dustin Keller. He's a good tight end, but he's not a Pro Bowl tight end. He doesn't rank anywhere close to the likes of Rob Gronkowski, Jimmy Graham, Aaron Hernandez or even Antonio Gates.
What makes them Pro Bowl tight ends is what Keller lacks - a good quarterback. Good luck on your Pro Bowl bid with Mark Sanchez, (or, god forbid, Tim Tebow).
“I’m in my prime right now,” he says. “This is going to be my best year yet… I will be a huge part of this offense.”
We appreciate his confidence, but it's bold statement nonetheless. As well as making the Pro Bowl this year, he also has a message for Fantasy team owners: “They’re going to get a great pick,” Keller said. “Regardless of what round they pick me, it’s going to be a sleeper, for sure."
