DeMarcus Ware appeared on 1310 The Ticket with Norm Hitzges this morning to promote the NFL's Beat the Heat campaign, which focuses on hydration for high school and youth football player. But Hitzges had to ask Ware about Greg Ellis' bizarre claim that Ware would take himself out of games and hide from the coaches to force them to put Ellis on the field last season. Ware didn't flat-out deny Ellis' story, but he certainly didn't confirm it. "You know, I just think that everybody got an ample amount of playing time, for what it was worth," Ware said diplomatically, acknowledging that he was uncomfortable discussing the subject. "At the end of the day, if I was off the field, there was a reason why I was off the field. Maybe Greg rushed the passer better against a certain guy.
