Denico Autry just cemented his place in Titans franchise history
Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports

NASHVILLE -- With two sacks against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Denico Autry has cemented his place in Titans' franchise history and joined some elite company.

Autry's two sacks of Bryce Young brought his season total to eight in 2023. That now makes three seasons with Tennessee, and three seasons in which Autry has reached the eight sack mark.

In doing so, Autry joined Jevon Kearse as the only two players to record eight (8) or more sacks in three different seasons since the team moved to Tennessee. Autry also climbed into the top 20 on the franchise's all-time sack leaderboard.

Throughout his time with the Titans' organization, Denico Autry has been the model of consistency. Those numbers prove as much. He's a quiet leader and veteran presence that knows how to prepare and shows up on a daily basis.

“I’ve got a lot of pride and a lot of respect for Denico," said Titans head coach Mike Vrabel in his press conference on Monday. "His ascension from college player to undrafted, going to Indy and coming here and maintaining that level of performance. I've got a lot of respect for him. He means a lot to us. I've enjoyed coaching him and being around him."

Autry initially signed a three-year, $21.5 million contract with the Titans during the 2021 offseason. It was undoubtedly one of the best signings made during the Jon Robinson era.

Turning 34 this offseason, Autry is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year. If he winds up on a different roster next season, Tennessee is going to greatly miss his impact on the defensive front. Regardless, Autry has already solidified a special place in Titans history.
