Englewood, CO (Sports Network) - Peyton Manning is officially a member of the Denver Broncos.
The four-time MVP and future Hall of Fame quarterback signed with the Broncos on Tuesday, less than two weeks after being released by the Indianapolis Colts.
"I'm very excited to begin the next chapter of my playing career with the Denver Broncos," Manning said at an afternoon press conference.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Denver Post reported it was for five years and $96 million, with a first-year payout of $18 million guaranteed.
"Peyton's one of the best ever to play this game and I feel very fortunate to have him here," Broncos owner Pat Bowlen said. "Our goal has always been to win Super Bowls and Peyton gives us a chance to win another World Championship."
Manning will wear No. 18, which had been worn by Denver's first quarterback, Frank Tripucka, and later retired by the team

The Peyton Manning Sweepstakes appear to be over with the news on Monday that the veteran quarterback is going to join the Denver Broncos. The next question is now going to be, how many of Manning’s former team mates from the Indianapolis Colts will join him on the Denver Broncos? There are plenty of them available.

Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos have agreed to terms on a five-year, $96 million contract, according to ESPN’s Adam Shefter.
While the report is missing a key ingredient—guaranteed money—which will determine the real value of the deal, it’s highly unlikely Manning will actually receive $96 million over five years in Denver.

The NFL will release its schedule at some point in late April, but the Patriots are already slated...

It didn’t take long for the San Francisco 49ers to real in Alex Smith and sign him to an undisclosed amount of money soon after it became official Peyton Manning would be playing in Denver. The 49ers seemed to have rushed to make a deal with Smith who led the team to the play-offs last season. It is also funny how the terms they came to are undisclosed. It makes you wonder...
Finally, Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning made his decision. It likely stemmed from his friendship with Hall of Fame QB and Denver Broncos executive John Elway. The Denver Broncos give Peyton Manning a great shot to win, but they must address some needs moving forward.
The Tennessee Titans looked like the best fit for Peyton Manning. The blind side of their offensive...
With Denver's $96 million signing of Peyton Manning, love-him-or-hate-him quarterback Tim Tebow is on the trading block. Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy spoke highly of Tebow at the 2010 Scouting Combine, and for good reason, but we tell you why a deal will not be made in this analysis.
As Tebowmania grew last season into a full-blown phenomenon, John Elway's obvious indifference to his pop-icon quarterback never seemed to change. Some interpreted this as a sign that Elway's personnel opinions were not driven by results -- Denver was winning games, after all -- as much as his ego and some weird sense of rivalry with Tim Tebow, who was suddenly more popular...
Word is Peyton Manning has picked the Denver Broncos and barring any break-downs in getting the final contract done, Manning will be the next quarterback for the Denver Broncos. I wonder where this leaves Tim Tebow, with Brady Quinn gone to Kansas City I think it will be a great learning opportunity for Tebow. Manning should be able to help Tebow tremendously. Tebow helped the Broncos...

I have to admit, it was exciting to play the "guess where Peyton will land?" game... but now it's over, and I'm glad for that. What a colossal distraction!I managed to catch up with Ron Jaworski ("Jaws"), and he affirmed my belief that the Peyton Maning signing by the Broncos has little or no effect upon the Eagles' 2012 plans... and according to Jaws...
I have another submission for the growing stack of proof that Mike Florio is flat nuts. With Denver winning the Peyton Manning sweepstakes, the Broncos will be looking to unload Tebow pronto. Last night, Florio floated the idea that the Bengals might be a good fit for him. What?!?! Maybe Florio just needed another team [...]
Let the Tim Tebow sweepstakes begin.
With Peyton Manning supplanting Tebow as Denver's starting quarterback, other teams have discussed acquiring the unconventional Tebow from the Broncos, including the Jacksonville Jaguars, Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins and New York Jets, according to an ESPN.com report.
