FF Locker Room:
The Denver Broncos have signed pass rushing linebacker Shaun Phillips to a one-year deal. Phillips had previously been employed by division rival San Diego where he has been his entire playing career, nine years. The Chargers wanted Phillips to re-sign but it looks like the deal the Broncos offered up was a little better. And I’m sure the lure of playing for a possible Super Bowl bound team is a big deal for Phillips.
This signing probably means the Broncos don’t go after free agent Dwight Freeney. Shaun has 69 sacks to his name and should help to fill in some of the production left by Elvis Dumervil.

Looking to add to an already formidable pass rush in the wake of the departure of Elvis Dumervil, the Denver Broncos have reportedly signed free agent LB Shaun Phillips. The nine year veteran has 69 1/2 career sacks and recorded 9 1/2 in 2012. Phillips is just two years removed from a trip to the Pro Bowl after logging 11 sacks.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Denver Broncos are signing OLB Shaun Phillips.
Phillips, 31, receives a one-year contract for Denver and figures to compete for the team’s starting defensive ends spot across from Von Miller. Phillips has spent his entire nine-year career in San Diego, but apparently was no longer a part of the team’s future plans. It’s worth noting...
The Denver Broncos have been in search of a defensive end to
replace Elvis Dumervil since the free-agency period began. While they’ve been
tied to several high-profile players – including Indianapolis Colts free agent
Dwight Freeney – the Broncos found their replacement in the form of San Diego
Chargers free agent linebacker Shaun Phillips.

The Denver Broncos used their second round pick in this year’s draft on Wisconsin running back Montee Ball. With Willis McGahee getting older and Knowshon Moreno falling out of favor in Denver, the Broncos felt like they needed an upgrade at running back. Ball ran for 1,830 yards and 22 touchdowns last season. Need NFL Tickets? The post Broncos draft RB Montee Ball appeared...

1.28 Denver Broncos Sylvester Williams, DT, Central Michigan (6-3, 313)
Sylvester Williams was selected as the twenty-eighth overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos. Williams is blessed with a big body and extreme quickness for someone his size, which will be extremely beneficial getting off the line through the A-gap with the snap of the ball. Also, Williams has...
Sylvester Williams took an unconventional path to the NFL.
An enigma as both a late-bloomer and a quick study, Williams started just one football game in high school in Jefferson City, Mo., where he admittedly wasn't much of a student or an athlete.
He twice got kicked off the basketball team for poor grades and eventually was expelled for ditching too many classes.
The San Diego drafted Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o with the 38th overall pick in this year’s draft. With the Chargers current linebacker situatoin, Te’o may end up starting right away. He’ll need to work on his pass coverage and taking on blocks against the run. Need NFL Tickets? The post Chargers draft linebacker Manti Te’o appeared first on Pro Football Zone.
