Last week: 5 (+0) Record: 11-3 Net points per drive: 0.67 (5th) DVOA: 37.2% (3rd) Weighted DVOA: 39.5% (3rd) The NFC is the much deeper conference, but I think the AFC has more top level talent as they have 3 of the top-5 top tier teams. The Broncos are in 5th, 3rd out of the 3 top AFC teams, because they’ve lost to both of the other two. The Texans have split and the Patriots have beaten both (and still will have to go on the road in a rematch against both because they managed to go 1-3 against the NFC West). Yes, I am aware those games were in weeks 2 and 5 and that the Broncos have ripped off an NFL best 9 game winning streak since, but against whom? Only Cincinnati and Baltimore even have a winning record among those 9. They could win the whole thing, but I wouldn’t bet on them to win a rematch against New England, let alone a rematch against Houston in the AFC Championship, if they manage to get that far. All Champ Bailey wants for Christmas is the same defensive coordinator

Champ Bailey is an all time great, a Hall of Fame caliber cornerback and probably can’t remember the names of all 11 defensive coordinators he’s had in his career. The 14 year veteran is the prototypical defensive back, He has size, he can play zone or man to man, and he takes away half of the football field. It’s even more amazing that with the entire turnover Bailey has...

Peyton Manning Looking For Win Number 12 For His Broncos If He Can Beat The Browns Sunday

Peyton Manning will face the Cleveland Browns this Sunday looking for his 12th win on the season. The Broncos could face a Cleveland team with a depleted secondary. Browns safety T.J. Ward is out for the year with a knee injury and this could play huge for Manning and his Broncos team as they look for their 12th win. Manning should have an easy time getting his team into the end...

Joe Thomas has high praise for Denver’s Von Miller

Joe Thomas has blocked the best the NFL has to offer in his career. When asked about the challenge facing the offensive line this week in their game against the Denver Broncos, Thomas had nothing but high praise for outside LB Von Miller- “He may be the fastest guy on their defense, corners and safeties included. I don’t know if he runs a 4.5 or a 4.4 or whatever he is, but...

McCoy, Del Rio may benefit from Broncos' success

The more the Denver Broncos win, the better the chance they lose - coordinators, that is. Defensive boss Jack Del Rio and his offensive counterpart, Mike McCoy, figure to be hot commodities for any head coaching vacancies when the season finally winds down. That's simply the price of success. Coach John Fox says: ''You like to see people get opportunities and have those...

Manning's choice added pressure in Denver

(Eds: Updates with quotes, details. With AP Photos.) By EDDIE PELLS AP National Writer Knowing as well as anyone that time is no longer his friend, Peyton Manning went looking for a team last summer. He gambled on the Denver Broncos, and when he signed the contract, the players who were already in Denver got the message: Their new quarterback thought the pieces were in place to...

Broncos were reportedly prepared to draft Brandon Weeden

When the Denver Broncos chose to go with Peyton Manning as their quarterback of the near future over Tim Tebow, very few questioned their decision. While Tebow had just led Denver on an improbable run to the divisional round of the playoffs, Manning is a future Hall of Famer who has already won a Super Bowl. Opportunities like that don’t come around all that often for a franchise...
