Found March 19, 2013 on XLJournal:
Denver Broncos team president John Elway went on record today with ESPN stating the team has made a new offer to defensive end Elvis Dumervil after his agent failed to file the paperwork of an agreed upon restructured contract by the 4 P.M. EST deadline. “We’ve offered Elvis a contract,” said Elway Tuesday afternoon. “We’d like to have Elvis back.” The terms of this new deal were not disclosed but it is safe to assume that it will not be for the $8 million Denver and Dumervil agreed upon after the two sides worked to restructure his contract. Elway, before the sides agreed to a restructuring and before the “fax-gate” fiasco, said that Dumervil’s contract–which was going into the 3rd year of a 6 year $61.5 million deal–was “out of whack.” The simple translation to that statement is that Dumervil was getting paid much more than the rest of the most productive ends in the league. It also could have meant that Elway did not think his production was warranting the money he was receiving from a bloated contract agreed to by the former Broncos front office regime before Elway took over as team president. Since being released by Denver to avoid being paid the full $12 million for the 2013 season, Dumervil has drawn interest from other teams such as the Baltimore Ravens, who have lost multiple key starters to free agency, trades, and retirement. Whether Dumervil has been offered a higher amount by the Ravens is unknown at this point. The question is what does Dumervil want more. A higher paycheck, or familiarity with the team he has played with his entire 6 year career. My gut tells me Dumervil will resign with Denver as long as the price tag is not too low. He was already going to take a pay cut for the team so why not shave a few more dollars off that number and stay on a Denver squad that is looking like a legit contender after signing slot specialist Wes Welker in free agency. My advice to you Elvis, do not leave the building.

Rumor Mill: Denver Has Made a Higher Offer to Dumervil than Baltimore

Per Les Shapiro of Denver’s ESPN Station 102.3, The Broncos have made a higher offer to bring back Elvis Dumervil than what is currently on the table from the Baltimore Ravens.  This is pretty unfounded at this point, so it comes down to how good of a source Les has.  That said, it appears the organization is holding to their word that they’re intent on keeping Doom in the...

Broncos prefer to re-sign Elvis Dumervil

We reported earlier that Elvis Dumervil wasn’t thrilled with the Broncos’ contract offer, which will force him to meet with other teams. Even though the Broncos’ offer wasn’t what Dumervil is looking for, they prefer to have him back, according to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun.  The only problem is that they can’t afford to give him the $8 million he was going to get...

Detroit Lions Should Explore Adding Elvis Dumervil

If not for a big mistake by the Denver Broncos and a fax machine, there wouldn’t even be a conversation about Elvis Dumervil being on the open market. But, late Friday afternoon, a mistake happened and Dumervil went from being extended to becoming the best free agent pass rusher available. The dominating defensive end was scheduled to make $8 million dollars. The Lions, after...

Broncos, Dumervil still in talks

Somehow, through it all, the Denver Broncos and Elvis Dumervil are still on speaking terms. The fax machine relationship clearly wasn’t working. After a second denial by the NFL to reconsider the Broncos and Dumervil’s case, and after Dumervil fired his previous agent and hired Tom Condon, the team and their defensive end are still in talks, The Denver Post reports. Dumervil...

Patriots showing interest in Dumervil

This article originally appeared on the blog 60 Max Power O. Find more coverage here . It would be poetic justice if the New England Patriots could sway defensive end Elvis Dumervil to play in Foxboro. The Denver Broncos were able to sign longtime Patriots receiver Wes Welker with the old strategy of double dipping, getting a great receiver while hurting a conference foe. Revenge...

Report: Steelers, Ravens are both interested in Elvis Dumervil

According to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun, both the Ravens and Steelers are interested in free agent linebacker Elvis Dumervil. The Super Bowl champion Ravens, who hope to meet with Dumervil later this week after the NFL owners meetings in Phoenix, could face competition for the Pro Bowl defender from within their own division. The Ravens’ biggest rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers...

Steelers Interested In Long And Dummervil? Really?

Over the last few days the Pittsburgh Steelers have been reported as having interest in former Denver Broncos defensive end/outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil and current St. Louis Rams tackle Jake Long. While these reports certainly get the Steelers fan base excited, you have to wonder how much water that these reports hold. Face it, the Steelers are working with very limited cap...

John Elway gets a taste of his free agent aquisitions

Last year Elway shocked the football world by nabbing Peyton Manning, mostly so he could send Tebow away and doom us all to free Papa Johns pizzas. Elway couldn’t wait to taste his new team.   Elway got a #1 seed and a glorious Peyton-esque playoff choke job for his efforts. But Elway liked the taste of Manning so much that he needed more salt licks to satisfy his cravings...

Dwight Freeney, John Abraham to meet Broncos

The Denver Broncos appear to be moving on without defensive end Elvis Dumervil as the team will meet with Dwight Freeney and John Abraham on Thursday, according to Mike Klis of The Denver Post. Dumervil is expected to begin

Denver Broncos: John Elway or Peyton Manning?

It's time to get the comparisons ready, and where's a better place to start than the Denver Broncos?  When discussing each from an overall career standpoint, it's not easy to make a decision, they are both Hall Of Fame quarterbacks.  Manning is a definite shoe in for the Hall Of Fame once he retires, and in his first season as a Broncos quarterback, he nearly led the...

Broncos rumors: Dwight Freeney, John Abraham to visit

Free agent defensive end Elvis Dumervil will see what the rest of the market has to offer after being less than pleased with the contract proposal he recently received from the Denver Broncos. While the Broncos remain hopeful of reaching an agreement with Dumervil, they are lining up alternatives, as the team is set to host free agent defensive ends Dwight Freeney and John Abraham...
