After being let go by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Derrick Brooks thought some team would pick him up last year. The Chicago Bears thought about it, but never did. Brooks will announce his retirement at a press conference on Thursday at the Tampa Bay's team facility. Brooks will be heading to the Hall of Fame as he was one of the best linebackers to play the game.
He won a Super Bowl in Tampa along with being selected to 11 Pro Bowls and was All-Pro nine times. Brooks was also an NFL Defensive Player Of the Year. On defense Brooks could do it all. He was a great runner stopper and excellent in pass coverage. He also could rush the passer when needed as well. Brooks was good at everything he did and Canton will be Brooks next stop.
