Brooks
Derrick Brooks spent 14 years, his whole NFL career playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who drafted him 28th overall in the 1995 NFL draft. The Saints bring him in hoping to add more power to their prety weak linebacker group which has seen Scott Shanle just go down with an injury. Perhaps this is the reason the Saints are considering adding him to the roster. There is no question that Derrick Brooks has proven himself before as a premier linebacker, being selected to the Pro Bowl 10 consecutive years plus an appearance in 2009, turing the lowly Buccaneers into Super Bowl champions, and being one of five players in NFL history to be voted into 10 Pro Bowls, named Defensive Player of the Year, and be a Super Bowl champion along with Mike Singletary, Reggie White, Lawrence Taylor, and Ray Lewis. But of course he comes to the Saints after all that. Only time will tell whether he can still be a good inside pressense for the defense. Anyway it's another step in trying to upgrade a virtually non-existant defense. Do you think Derrick Brooks still has it in him to bring a much needed boost to a sub-par linebacking corp?
