Buzz On Broad:
Well if losing to the Carolina Panthers last night on Monday Night Football wasn't enough, then the news that was given to the Philadelphia Eagles this morning sure added to it. Head Coach Andy Reid announced during his Tuesday afternoon press conference that Jackson had sustained multiple rib fractures and will most likely be placed on the injured reserve today. It is believed that Jackson suffered the injury on a two-yard end around in the first quarter.
Jackson finished the night with one catch for nine yards. He has been a huge disappointment this season, but so has the entire team. Jackson signed a five-year deal worth $51 million this past off season. He did not live up to the hype that he has surrounded himself with. Jackson ended up finishing his 2012-2013 season with 45 receptions, 700 yards receiving, and two touchdowns.
What a turn of events for the Eagles this season.
There was so much hype that was surrounding this entire organization after the moves that had been made the off season before and now it has turned into one of, if not, the biggest disappointments in professional sports.
It not only is a disappointment to Eagles' fans everywhere, but it is also a disappointment to Jeffrey Lurie who said that an 8-8 record would not be acceptable for this Eagles' team. The Eagles now have the worst record in the NFC at 3-8 and are currently the fourth worst team in the entire NFL. The best they can finish is 8-8.
Will Lurie live up to his word? Many fans sure think he will.
But does Reid deserve a mulligan for all the injuries that his team (most importantly his offensive line) has dealt with all season? According to Tim McManus, an Eagles beat writer for 97.5 The Phanatic, Reid will most likely remain the head coach for the Eagles this week against the Dallas Cowboys.
We may not find out about the future of Reid until the end of the season, but we do know that the fire is starting to kick up on his hot seat.

In a year that began with the team owner saying that another 8-8 season wouldn’t be enough for Andy Reid to keep his job and the starting quarterback claiming that the Eagles were about to be a dynasty, a 3-8 start with seven consecutive losses surely wasn’t the way the long-time Philly head coach drew things up.
So if team owner Jeffrey Lurie is true to his word and lets Andy...
A seven-game losing streak won't get Andy Reid to change his ways.
As usual, Reid accepted blame and pointed the finger directly at himself following the Philadelphia Eagles' latest loss, 30-22 to the Carolina Panthers on Monday night.
''I take full responsibility. There's a way to get through and I'm not doing it right now,'' Reid said Tuesday....
The Philadelphia Eagles will place wide receiver DeSean Jackson on injured reserve after he sustained multiple rib fractures in Monday night's loss to Carolina.
Jackson leads the team with 45 catches and 700 yards receiving, but has only two touchdowns. Coach Andy Reid says the injury could take six weeks to heal.
Reid says running back LeSean McCoy remains in phase one of...
The Philadelphia Eagles have placed WR DeSean Jackson on season-ending injured reserve after he suffered a few fractured ribs during Monday night’s loss to the Carolina Panthers, per Reuben Frank.
As if things couldn’t get any worse for Andy Reid and company, they now lose Jackson who is just one year into a five year contract.
Michael Vick and LeSean McCoy are dealing with...
The Eagles drop their seventh-straight, this time to Carolina, as Andy Reid's hourglass sands drop non-stop. Justin Henry has all the details.
One year removed from an 18-sack season, Philadelphia Eagles DE Jason Babin was abruptly released yesterday. I don’t mean to pile-on here, but I can’t say I’m sad to see him go.
In fact, I was very surprised they signed him (again) in 2011.
I normally do not play the “I told you so” game, but…I told you so. Back in June of 2011, I wrote an article saying why I didn’t...
Another week gone by and the Phillies have still won a game more recently than the Eagles have. The best would be if the Flyers won a game before the next time the Eagles did. And that’s with the NHL losing a full season to the lockout.
Not that Andy Reid had any chance of salvaging his job with a good performance in a prime time game against another team, but he couldn’t even...
Eagles head coach Andy Reid mentioned that QB Michael Vick still hasn’t been cleared from a concussion that he suffered a few weeks ago.
“If the young guys are available to play, we’re going to put them in and play them,” Reid said. “If that’s the situation, I’m not going to hesitate to do that. But we’ll see how things go here as we continue to roll on.”
Monday Night Football will feature a game that few outside of Carolina and Philadelphia will care about tonight. The 2-8 Panthers head to Philly to take on the 3-7 Eagles. Both teams have clearly struggled all season, so it will be interesting to see which team steps up in this game.
The Eagles aren’t looking too good, as Andy Reid is on the verge of getting fired and Michael Vick...
Resident Australian on TSHQ James Caughlin is in complete control over which writer gets which games to recap each and every week. And he’s done a bang up job of keeping the schedule fair and balanced. Some weeks you may get a ton of great games to recap. Other weeks you are not as fortunate. This was one of my less fortunate weeks. Rather than sit here and create four different...
