When the NFL delivered a bombshell news drop at midnight ET Friday morning to announce that Apple Music is the new partner for the Super Bowl halftime show beginning with Super Bowl LVII, some saw that as an indication that music superstar Taylor Swift would take part in or even headlining the event.
It appears that's not the case.
Both TMZ Sports and People's Melody Chiu are reporting that Swift is not scheduled to perform at all before or during Super Bowl LVII held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023.
Fans, or "Swifties," took to Twitter throughout Friday to insist there were multiple "Easter eggs" teasing that the 32-year-old would take part in what's become one of the most anticipated elements of Super Bowl Sunday. Swift is known for making announcements at midnight, has a working relationship with Apple Music that has included starring in commercials and is also sponsored by Coca-Cola, per Daniel Chavkin of Sports Illustrated.
Pepsi, Coke's biggest market rival, previously sponsored the Super Bowl halftime show:
After 10 years of iconic Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show performances, we have decided it’s time to pass the mic. Thank you to the amazing artists and fans who helped us create some incredible moments along the way. Now on to the next stage…

The Super Bowl LVI halftime show featured big-name acts Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar. The NFL press release notes it earned three Creative Emmy Awards and was seen by over 120 million viewers.
