Lions RB Smith probable vs. Raiders

Detroit Lions running back Kevin Smith is expected to start in Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders. Smith missed last week’s game against the Minnesota Vikings with a high ankle sprain suffered against the New Orleans Saints in Week 13. Smith was acquired by the Lions after running back Jahvid Best suffered a concussion in Week 6. He’s rushed for 229 yards and three...

Detroit Lions face critical road test in Oakland

When I sit down and begin typing each article, I set a goal to try and write in a way that makes the reader want to finish the entire piece.  That said, this article was one of the more challenging ones to do so. Lions face 3rd and 2. Stafford finds Megatron crossing the middle with a 2 yard yard pass...who then adds 21 in YAC! Lions at midfield! Beast personified. 2nd and 10...BLITZ...SACK. Stafford loses 11. UGH.  3rd and forver, Stafford overthrows Megatron. Would have been short, anywayA promising drive was killed off by the Raiders sack.  But a nice punt by the Aussie, Ben Graham...

Detroit Lions @ Oakland Raiders: 4th quarter running diary

FYI:  Stafford is over 4K passing yards on the season. Via Tim Twenyman on Twitter: Stafford over 4,000 yards on season. He's 2nd youngest to have 4,000 and 30 touchdowns in same season. The youngest was Dan Marino in 1984. I often forget Stafford is only 23. He's going to get better...and he's pretty damn good already. Lions start the 4th by converting on 3rd down...
