The Detroit Lions returned to practice Wednesday in preparation for their Week 17 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys.

Among those not participating during the portion of practice open to the media include Jerry Jacobs and Taylor Decker.

A team source indicated Jacobs was out on the practice field.

James Houston was also not spotted at practice. Coach Dan Campbell had stated that the second-year may begin his return-to-play practice window this week, but he was not a participant on Wednesday.

Cornerback Emmanuel Moseley, who is out for the season with a knee injury, was observed on the side watching practice.

Micah Parsons has been a dominant force for the Cowboys, totaling 13.0 sacks to this point in the season. The Lions' offensive line has been a strength all season, which sets up a fascinating matchup in Saturday's game.

"Oh yeah, he's a game-wrecker for sure. I was just talking to the guys upstairs, they move him around so much, whether it's right side, left side, over either guard, over the center," Johnson explained. "Almost every snap, he's in a different location so it's hard to get a beat a little bit to account for where he's at. And okay, so you know where he's at, they have so many more dynamic guys up front that are fresh. I think that's the thing that coach (Dan) Quinn does such a nice job, is the rotation and keeping those guys going non-stop and relentless."

With a shorter week of practice, the Lions are dedicating Wednesday to their third down preparations. Facing the Cowboys' pass rush, led by Parsons and Demarcus Lawrence, will be no easy task in this situation for the offense.

"Today's our third down day, you turn on their third down tape and it's just a party at the quarterback for third-and-5 plus," Johnson said. "It's pretty special what they can accomplish with their pass rush. So Micah is a huge part of the issues that we are accounting for this week."
