Detroit Lions running back Joique Bell is only three years removed from his senior year at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, where he rushed for 2,084 yards and 29 touchdowns. That amazing season resulted in Bell bringing home the Harlon Hill Trophy for the best Division II player of the year and a shot with the Buffalo Bills after going undrafted in the 2010 NFL Draft.Bell has then gone on to play for the Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints and now the Detroit Lions.Bell, who stands at 5-11 and 220 pounds, has 374 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the season, and a 5.4 yards per carry average to boot. That average currenlty bests starter Mikel Leshoure's 3.7 yards per attempt."He's strong," Lions head coach Jim Schwartz told ESPN. "One thing with Joique is, very rarely does the first guy get him down. He's got good balance, very strong. Gives us a little different dimension. All those guys are a little bit different style."The Lions are Bell's first real opportunity in the NFL after spending most of his time on the practice squad's with the aforementioned teams. The humble Bell never gives up and always pushes himself to be better."I'd give me a solid B, A-," Bell said of his performance to the Detroit News earlier this season. "I know what I have to do to improve, so (I'll) just continue working on the small detail things that turn good players into great players."The talented Division II running back that most NFL teams have passed on, is finally getting a shot with the Lions and he couldn't be happier to be back in Detroit."I'm out there doing warm-ups and I hear people saying, 'Joique Bell, Wayne State,' Bell told the Detroit News. "It feels good to know I have my alumni out there supporting me, and I support my school."Bell's NFL future is bright, he should be name to keep an eye on while watch him potentially contend for the starting job with the Detroit Lions for year's to come.
