On Sunday, karma caught up with Washington Redskins’ safety Brandon Meriweather.  I want to make certain that I mean what I say and to that end I want to say clearly what I mean.  I do not wish ill upon Meriweather, but his two injury-causing helmet to helmet hits were, as he may now acknowledge, totally uncalled for. The first hit, wherein he launched himself violently at the earhole of Green Bay Packers’ running back Eddie Lacy, missed its mark and the top of Meriweather’s helmet appeared to strike the temple area of the running back’s helmet, just above and slightly forward of ear area, a very dangerous place for a hit, as most neurologists will acknowledge.  Lacy was concussed and had to leave the game.  Meriweather looked no worse for wear...
