The Detroit Lions head to halftime up 17-14 over the Washington Redskins. The Lions started with the ball, but it was the Redskins who struck first.  Cornerback Deangelo Hall intercepted quarterback Matthew Stafford and took the football 17 yards to the house. Stafford rebounded well with a nine play drive that culminated in a Joique Bell 12-yard run for six. The Lions defense stayed stout to cause a 3-and-out allowing Stafford pick to pick up where he left off.  This time Stafford finds tight end Joseph Fauria on a five-yard dart to the end zone. Down 14-7 quarterback Robert Griffin III marched down the field only to be intercepted by cornerback Chris Houston.  Griffin forced one after feeling heavy pressure applied by defensive end Willie Young. Shortly after the Redskins got the ball back giving Griffin a second chance to tie the game.  After a few nice throws from the QB big boy Alfred Morris plowed his way for a 31-yard touchdown run. Again the Lions took the ball right back down the field.  This time their drive stalled at Washington’s 14 yard line forcing kicker David Akers to boot one in from 32 yards. The Lions offense looks good without Bush, but can the defense hold off Griffin who has been significantly better in the 2nd half of games this season.
