Mike DeVito was not seen at practice today, after a knee injury came to light yesterday, according to Jenny Vrentas of the Star-Ledger.
Mike DeVito was a surprise addition to the Jets’ practice report yesterday, limited with a knee injury. Today, the defensive lineman was absent from practice during the portion open to the media.
Coach Rex Ryan will update DeVito’s status for Sunday’s San Diego game later today.
DeVito is one of the team’s best run stuffers. For him to not be able to play Sunday would be a big blow to a defense that’s trying to get better against the run — especially considering that the Jets are facing Ryan Matthews of the Chargers.
Matthews did have some injury concerns (foot, wrist) going into the bye week, but looks to be a full go for Sunday as he’s not missed practice this week.
