Dez Bryant thinks new Chiefs WR Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown will flourish with Kansas City
Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

A former NFL All-Pro at wide receiver is a big fan of the Kansas City Chiefs' recent move to sign Marquise "Hollywood" Brown in free agency.

Within minutes of the deal being announced, Former Cowboys WR Dez Bryant took to Twitter to react to the news.

He later returned to the social media platform to elaborate on his excitement.

Everyone knew the Chiefs needed to make a move to acquire a wide receiver in free agency, but Bryant seems adamant that Brown is the right one for Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid. Bryant wrote that Brown has been misused during his tenure in the NFL, but thinks he'll flourish in Kansas City.

Brown certainly felt he was misused in Greg Roman's run-heavy offense in Baltimore, which is one of the reasons that a trade to the Arizona Cardinals happened. His time in Arizona wasn't so much misuse as it was the fact his quarterback, Kyler Murray, wasn't healthy. Brown played just 19 games with Murray during his two seasons with the Cardinals compared to 15 games with other starting QBs.

Ultimately, Brown has never played in a pass-heavy offense in the NFL. Pass rates in Arizona and Baltimore while Brown was there never ranked better than 16th in the league. Meanwhile, the Chiefs have ranked first in the NFL in pass rate over the past five seasons. The opportunity will certainly be there for Brown to flourish as Bryant says, but it'll be up to him to make the absolute most of it. Given the nature of his one-year deal, it'd behoove him to take advantage.
