If Jon Gruden is going to land his next NFL coaching gig, he'll have his peers to thank. Appearing on Philadelphia sports radio Tuesday, Dick Vermeil weighed in on the Eagles' search for a head coach, recommending the Monday Night Football commentator. "My choice would be Jon Gruden," Vermeil said, via Philly.com. "... I just think he's a helluva of football coach, and I don't want him to make the mistake I made, to wait too long to go back. I just think he's a helluva football coach and a great personality." Vermeil, the former Eagles, Rams and Chiefs head man, even suggested the Eagles should skip the pleasantries and show the 49-year-old Gruden the money. "I'd do more than ask," Vermeil said. "You know what I'd do? I'd get in a bus and take the bank with me." The Eagles have yet to contact Gruden despite two recommendations from highly-respected figures in Philadelphia lore. Earlier this week, ex...

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders head coach Jon Gruden is open to returning to the NFL, but only for the right job, ESPN’s Ron Jaworski said on WPEN-WF Philadelphia on Monday. Jon Gruden attends WWE RAW instead of watching BCS game (Video)

Jon Gruden must have known a blowout was coming in the BCS National Championship Game between Alabama and Notre Dame, because he was sitting in the first row at WWE “RAW” on Monday night instead. USA’s cameras showed Chucky and a young boy going nuts in the crowd during the show in Tampa on Monday. Chucky showed the type of excitement that he usually reserves for when he...

NFL Rumors: Jon Gruden to the Cleveland Browns, again?

Jon Gruden has been linked to virtually every coaching vacancy in the college and professional ranks in the last few years after he joined the broadcast booth. This year, reports have suggested that Gruden may indeed be willing to re-join the sidelines as his time away from the game might make his coach relevancy less important. Gruden has a premiere job, siting alongside Mike Tirico...

You can find betting odds on just about everything in pro football---even the odds that your favorite candidate for the Eagles HC position will actually get the job. Well, We're Waiting...

I know I haven't made an official post since Norv and AJ were canned on New Year's Eve.  According to NFL Playoff Betting Lines, Denver is favored to win it all.  While they're the only team I don't want to see win the Super Bowl, I can't really get too upset about it.  I wrote a piece over at Bleacher Report on the quandry over how much of an effect a coach...
