GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Evan Dietrich-Smith would be perfectly fine if no one had ever heard of him. In fact, the Green Bay Packers' backup guard didn't mind a bit when news reports referred to him simply as a "Packers lineman" who had his arm stomped by Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh on Thanksgiving Day. "I had a million people calling me, 'I just saw you on SportsCenter!' I'm like, 'Yeah, I know,'" Dietrich-Smith said Thursday. "It's not really cool to be famous for getting stepped on, but it doesn't really matter to me." While Suh appealed his two-game suspension this week, Dietrich-Smith was in the news for a better reason. With right guard Josh Sitton's 48-game streak of consecutive starts set to end because of a knee injury, Dietrich-Smith will make his first NFL start Sunday against the New York Giants as the Packers (11-0) take their undefeated record on the road. "I thought he real...

Ndamukong Suh suspended two games: What this means for the Detroit Lions

Honestly, Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh got off easy in my opinion.  With Suh’s reputation, just a two game suspension for intentionally stomping on an opposing player is less than I expected. Five days after Suh stomped on Packers offensive lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith, the NFL announced yesterday that Suh will be suspended for the Lions’ next two games.  This...

League upholds Suh's suspension

Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh's appeal of his two-game suspension has been denied by the NFL. Art Shell, jointly appointed by the league and the players' association to hear such cases, ruled Friday that Suh's suspension for stomping an opponent was inappropriate. Suh will miss Sunday's game at New Orleans and a Dec. 11 home game against Minnesota...

Suh's appeal to be heard Thursday (AP)

Ndamukong Suh will get his appeals hearing right away. On Thursday afternoon, Suh will present his appeal of his two-game suspension for stomping Packers guard Evan Dietrich-Smith to Art Shell. The league handed out the suspension Tuesday, but Suh immediately appealed. Shell is a joint appointee of the NFL and the players' association for such cases.

Lions fill Suh's roster spot with DE Keyunta Dawson

RotoWire NFL IDP Report

The biggest news among defensive players from last week - you may have already heard about it - was Detroit defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh's after-the-play stomp on Green Bay guard Evan Dietrich-Smith and the two-game suspension that came out of it. Even before Suh's boneheaded spree of violence Thursday, his numbers were a major disappointment. He's nowhere close to...

Surging Saints vying for fourth consecutive win

Drew Brees looks to lead the Saints to a fourth straight win Sunday night when they host a Lions team that likely will be without Ndamukong Suh due to a league suspension.
