Fox Sports Ohio:
CINCINNATI -- A.J. Green went up between Ryan Clark and Troy Polamalu, two of the game's best safeties.
Green came down with the ball -- and a 36-yard Bengals touchdown. The Bengals' uber-rookie does things like that.
Unfortunately, Green came down awkwardly on his right knee. He was down in the end zone for nearly a minute before being helped off. He came back and took an end around for 7 yards in the second quarter, but he the"n left the game again.
The second time around, he didn't return.
The Bengals lost a tough one Sunday, a tough one on many levels. Green insisted after the game he's going to be OK for next week at Baltimore, and the Bengals will need him. Going back to him is probably one of many regrets the Bengals carry from Sunday.
They probably didn't need to call that end around. Rookie coordinator Jay Gruden probably wishes he had that one back. Later, star cornerback Leon Hall was lost to an Achilles injury, probably for the season. Ro...
BEST OF MAXIM
Cincinnati Bengals rookie wide receiver A.J. Green injured his right knee while reeling in a touchdown catch during Sunday's game against the AFC North rival Pittsburgh Steelers.
Green's knee buckled on a leaping 36-yard touchdown reception over Troy Polamalu and Ryan Clark. It was his only catch of the day.
He was able to play into the second quarter, but rode a stationary...
Bengals rookie wide receiver A.J. Green tried, unsuccessfully, to play through a knee injury in Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Is Troy Polamalu becoming a Box Safety? This is a good question. Polamalu has always been considered a triple threat safety. He tackles like a linebacker. Is fast like a cornerback and covers like a safety. He is a huge playmaker and is what makes the Steelers defense go.
This play right here where you see Polamalu score a touchdown versus the Bengals may have been what has...
Leon Hall had an MRI done after Sunday’s 24-17 loss against the Steelers. Hall suffered a right Achilles injury during the second quarter and did not return to the game. Hall spoke briefly in the locker room and did not say a lot but teammates were not optimistic and fearing a torn Achilles, which would end his season.
Hall has the longest current streak of games played by a Bengal...
Bengals rookie receiver A.J. Green has garnered more than just the admiration of cornerback Ike Taylor. He has gained the respect and following of another more famous Ike -- former Bengals receiving great Isaac Curtis.
PASS OFFENSE (C)
Pass protection was good as Dalton did not get sacked. the A.J. Green touchdown catch where he went up over two Steelers safeties was a beauty and Andy Dalton’s touchdown throw to Jermaine Gresham in the third quarter was one of his best throws of the day. Now, let’s talk about the one thing that is preventing this offense from progressing another level this...
