Pulling away from a 3-3 first-quarter tie, the Dolphins (6-8) earned their second win in the past seven games. The Jaguars (2-12) lost for the 10th time in the past 11 games. Miami rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill displayed the effective form he possessed earlier in the season, completing 22 of 28 passes for 220 yards and two touchdowns and a 123.2 rating. He also ran for 52 yards on eight carries, and he passed for a two-point conversion. Dan Carpenter added field goals 53, 30 and 31 yards for the Dolphins. Jacksonville's only points came on a 37-yard Josh Scobee field goal. The Dolphins' running game produced 180 yards, including 104 yards on 21 carries by Reggie Bush. Chad Johnson and his ex-wife appeared in a Florida courtroom to have her order of protection against him dropped.

There's nothing the Jacksonville Jaguars can do to prevent the worst season in franchise history.
It's on coach Mike Mularkey's resume now.
It also could lead to his ouster, along with general manager Gene Smith.
The Jaguars (2-12) clinched their spot in history with a 24-3 loss at Miami on Sunday, the team's seventh defeat this season by 16 points or more.
The Jaguars season is just about over, but for Maurice Jones-Drew it is important to get on the field before it ends.
Jones-Drew in the off-season had been trying to secure a long term contract, but ownership scoffed at that possibility.
Jones-Drew then found himself in a tight situation when he injured his foot early in the season. A player’s only recourse in contract squabbles...
Ryan Tannehill took some hits when he came to the sideline following the Miami Dolphins' final score. The rookie weaved along the bench playfully jostled by a nudge to the ribs, slaps on the helmet and whacks on the back. It was standard stuff as NFL celebrations go, but unusual for Tannehill and Miami's offense.
The Miami Dolphins were awarded cornerback Dimitri Patterson off waivers from the Cleveland Browns and placed tight end Charles Clay on injured reserve. Patterson saw action in seven games for the Browns after signing as a free agent over the offseason, but slipped down the depth chart when he missed seven games following a mid-October ankle injury. Clay suffered a knee injury...

Nearly two months later, Jaguars coach Mike Mularkey remains coy about the foot injury that has kept running back Maurice Jones-Drew out for eight consecutive games.
