The Miami Dolphins began phase one of their free agency plan by signing some of their own unrestricted free agents to new contracts. The team announced new deals for starting wide reciever Brian Hartline and back up quarterback Matt Moore prior to the NFL's three day negotiating period with other teams UFA's which opens at midnight on Saturday. Late Thursday night the Dolphins signed Hartline to a five year, $30.8 million deal with $12.5 million guaranteed making him Miami's highest paid offensive player. Since the end of the regular season, Hartline made it evidently clear he wanted to return to Miami and the feeling was mutual with the front office. Coming off a breakout year, Hartline has established himself as a viable number two reciever and would have been a top commodity on the open market. The 26 year old Ohio native isn't the deep threat the team is looking to add this offseason however he is a reliable pass catcher that developed great chemistry with Ry...

Bikini Babe and Miami Dolphins Wide Receiver Brian Hartline

What can we take from the photo below of Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brian Hartline and a rather bodacious babe in a bikini taken in Antigua? Hmmm.... 1. It doesn't take an elite athlete to make it in the NFL. 2. Brian believes in curls. Just not ones done in the gym. 3. The Dolphins are fixing to pay that $6 million a year? 4. She is clearly into him for the money...

Miami Dolphins re-sign WR Brian Hartline

Brian Hartline had a 1000 yard breakout season last year, catching 74 passes for 1083 yards, after combining for 109 catches for 1670 yards in his first 3 years in the league after going in the 4th round of the 2009 NFL Draft out of Ohio State. However, those numbers are deceiving. First, he only scored just once all season. Second, he was incredibly inconsistent. Close to a quarter...

How Could Bowe and Hartline Deal Effect Welker Deal

With blockbuster deals for both Hartline and Bowe, how does that affect what Welker’s market is? It seems this year, more than any, the money players are asking for and receiving are higher than normal. This means that the discounted market the Patriots were hoping for and counting on just might not be what they thought. The Patriots have been "CAP smart" throughout...

Reports: Dolphins re-sign QB Matt Moore

The Miami Dolphins have re-signed quarterback Matt Moore to a 2-year, 8 million contract according to multiple reports. Moore, 28, chose to remain with the Dolphins as a backup rather than test the free-agent market, where he would have been one of the more coveted quarterbacks available and perhaps had the chance to compete for a starting job with another team. In Miami, there will...

QB Moore signs 2-year deal to remain with Dolphins

Quarterback Matt Moore has signed a two-year contract to remain with the Miami Dolphins as a backup rather than testing free agency next week and pursuing a possible starting job. Moore was beaten out for Miami's No. 1 job last summer by rookie Ryan Tannehill and played in only two games off the bench. The five-year veteran started 12 games for the Dolphins in 2011 and had his...

Report: Wes Welker Has Drawn Interest From Dolphins During NFL Tampering Window

The Miami Dolphins went into 2012 barren at wide receiver. Chad Johnson couldn’t even make it through training camp and Brian Hartline did an admirable job during the season, but it was obvious Miami needed to upgrade the position. The Dolphins have already re-signed Hartline, they’re considered the front runners for Mike Wallace and now they’re interested in Wes Welker, according...

Matt Moore and the Ultimate All-Free Agent Team

Picking a team from all free agents is like giving gifts found from the Island of Misfit Toys.Remember, these players are here because their former teams didn't want them in the first place.Granted, there's value in this pool of players; Mike Wallace and Greg Jennings are top-tier pass-catchers.I'm looking for that value. Let's begin with my play caller, shall we...
