The New York Jets have requested and were granted permission to interview Brian Gaine for their vacant General Manager's position, according to a team source. Gaine, the Miami Dolphins' assistant general manager, has been with the team since 2008, when he was part of the former Dallas Cowboys crew that came to Miami with Bill Parcells. Gaine began his tenure in Miami as the Assistant Director of Player Personnel and was promoted to Assistant General Manager in 2012. He's served as General Manager Jeff Ireland's right-hand man for the past five offseasons. "His attention to detail and professionalism has ultimately paid dividends to his growth and development," Ireland said when Gaine was promoted. Despite the Dolphins' overall win-loss record during the past five seasons Gaine is viewed as one of the NFL's young, up and coming executives. Source: Sun Sentinel
