Owner Steve Ross has been telling friends he expects to spend a lot when free agency starts in March. Ross is trying to build support for a new stadium and a successful football team makes it that much easier.
The Dolphins need playmaking receivers and a strong supporting cast around second year quarterback Ryan Tannehill. According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, possible targets include Green Bay’s Greg Jennings and Pittsburgh’s Mike Wallace as primary targets.
While there is much anticipation on the free agency front, Dolphins veterans such as Reggie Bush are scratching their heads at the lack of offers being tossed their way. Jackson writes:
‘Some Dolphins free agents are frustrated Ireland has made unappealing contract offers or none at all. But he often waits until the NFL Combine in late February to get serious. Players can sign with other teams starting March 12.’
