Jason La Canfora reports that league sources have informed him that the Miami Dolphins are expected to franchise DT Randy Starks at some point today. La Canfora adds that Miami is trying to negotiate contracts with their other impending free agents like OT Jake Long, RB Reggie Bush, WR Brian Hartline and CB Sean Smith, but they’re unlikely to use the tag on these players. Starks, 29, would receive a one-year guaranteed contract of $8.45 million if franchised, but that’s apparently not something he’s interested in. “I want to be a Dolphin!!! Not just for one more year…,” tweeted Starks Sunday night. “Discount yea clearance rack heck no! I want to be here and finish here!“ We have Starks listed as the No. 16 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
