On Sunday, the Miami Dolphins will play a football game in front of Dolphins fans in Miami for the first time in just about a month.  The Dolphins haven’t played a home game since October 14th when they beat the St. Louis Rams.  Since that game, the Dolphins have traveled to New York and to Indianapolis, with a bye week mixed in.  The Dolphins need some home cookin’ and need a win in the worst way.   After a tough loss to the Colts, the Dolphins need to rebound quickly, if they want to stay in the playoff discussion. With the Colts blowing out the Jaguars, they improved to 6-3 on the season and have a strong hold on one of the AFC Wild Card sports. This win means the Dolphins need to win on Sunday against the Titans to keep pace.  The Colts, in case you were wondering, have some tough games left on their schedule; @ Patriots, vs. Texans, @ Texans, and @ Detroit.  If I had to guess, I’d say the Colts finish the year 9-7 this season.  We’ll worry about the Colts and the playoffs another day.  For now, it’s time to look at the Dolphins Gameplan for Sunday in their must win game against the Titans. Return of the Running Game The Dolphins rushing attack hasn’t been the same since Reggie Bush injured his knee in week 3 against the Jets. Reggie has shown some burst in recent week, capped by his amazing touchdown run last week against the Colts.  The Dolphins need more of that from Reggie as well as continued hard running by Daniel Thomas.  I also think the Dolphins need to mix in Lamar Miller in spots, give the kid 5-8 carries and see what he can do.  Daniel Thomas has run better of late, but he does not have home run ability.  Every time Miller touches the ball, he has the potential to break a big run. The Dolphins offensive line needs to do a better job of maintaining blocks and opening up some holes for the Dolphins runners.  What’s been wrong with the Dolphins running game?  Well, the Dolphins offensive line has failed to consistently open running lanes for Reggie Bush, which has led to him dancing in the backfield, taking losses at times. Those negative runs must be eliminated or at least reduced greatly.  The Titans rank #30 in the NFL, allowing over 140 yards per game on the ground.  This would be a nice week for the Dolphins to stay with the running game and control the clock.   (cont’d on page 2, click below) Pages: 1 2
