Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Jake Long exited yesterday’s
loss to the New England Patriots, and the team is concerned that he suffered
what could be a season-ending triceps injury,
reports Jeff Darlington of NFL.com.
Left tackle Jake Long exited the game with an injury
and didn't return, and the Dolphins fear he suffered a torn triceps,
sources close to the team and the player told NFL.com's Jeff Darlington.
Long will undergo an MRI today to determine the extent of
his injury. According to one source Darlington spoke with, “it doesn’t look
Long is set to hit the free agent market following the
season. While he hasn’t played especially well this season, he is a former No.
1 overall pick and does have a decent track record in Miami.
If Long is forced to miss time due to the injury, NFL.com
speculates that the Dolphins could shift starting right tackle Jonathan Martin
over to the left side to see how he handles the position.
