Ikaika Alama-Francis has become the incredible shrinking man lately. Not only did the Miami Dolphins' converted defensive lineman have to lose 20 pounds to make the offseason transition to strongside linebacker, but Alama-Francis' recent illness - the one that spoiled his first start with the Dolphins when he became sick the night before the season opener against Buffalo - also caused him to drop 15-20 pounds from his 6-foot-5, 285-pound frame. Despite practicing all last week, Alama-Francis missed his third consecutive game because of the virus' impact. He said at the peek of his sickness he couldn't swallow anything for about a week. These days he's force-feeding himself everything possible to put the weight back on with the hopes he'll pick up where he left off. "All the stuff that was off limits for a while I can eat now," Alama-Francis said. "It's like a free for all."
