DAVIE, Fla. -- The "Suck for Luck" campaign was in full force a year ago. The Miami Dolphins were 0-7 and in position to land Andrew Luck with the top pick in the NFL draft.
It didn't happen. The Dolphins suddenly turned matters around and finished 6-10. Indianapolis ended up with the highly touted quarterback.
But the Dolphins have come out OK. They managed to get quarterback Ryan Tannehill with the No. 8 selection.
Several Miami players, including center Mike Pouncey, defensive end Cameron Wake and backup quarterback Matt Moore, say Tannehill is the best rookie quarterback in the NFL. That's right. Better than Luck. Better than Robert Griffin III, taken No. 2 by Washington.
Another guy on the Dolphins who believes Tannehill is better than Luck is rookie tackle Jonathan Martin, who just happens to be Luck's former Stanford teammate. The two are good friends who talk on the phone weekly.
