The Miami Dolphins have poached offensive lineman Will Barker from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad, and signed him to the team’ 53-man roster on Wednesday. Barker was claimed Tuesday morning and passed his physical in the afternoon, consumating a two-year deal that will at least keep him around for a month because poached practice squad members must remain on the team’s 53-man roster for at least three weeks. Barker, who is 6-foot-7, 325 pounds, can plays both tackle and guard, but has primarily worked on the right side of the offensive line. That happens to be the area the Dolphins need the most help with because of Marc Colombo’s struggles. Barker, who started for 49 games at the University of Virginia, wasn’t selected in the 2010 draft. He signed with the Dallas Cowboys, but after being released at the conclusion of camp he spent 2010 with the Buccaneers. He played three games for Tampa Bay last year and spent the first month of the season on Tampa Bay’s practice roster. ...
