Miami Dolphins running back Daniel Thomas did not practice Friday and was listed on the team's injury report as out against the Oakland Raiders with a concussion. Thomas was injured in the season opener at the Houston Texans. That means Reggie Bush should get the bulk of the carries for an otherwise inexperienced Miami backfield. Defensive tackle Tony McDaniel (knee) is also out on Sunday.

Calling our shots: week two

Fantasy football can at times be a very funny place to seek help when you need it most. One week, a so called “expert” will tell you to start “Player A” because “Player A” is a “can’t miss” starter who will blow up that week. A week later, that expert will deny giving that advice to their readers or followers but will be more than happy to tell you to start ...

Dolphins rule Daniel Thomas out with a concussion

Daniel Thomas is the Dolphins’ 2nd string running back and is the type of player who could have a big role on a weekly basis, depending on the matchup, because of how much the Dolphins like to run. They only got the run 19 times in the opener, 2 of which were quarterback scrambles, because they were down by so much, so Thomas only had 3 carries. He did catch a catch for 32 yards...

Dolphins halftime contest: Win $10,000 if you kick a 60 yard field goal….seriously

The Miami Dolphins have become the butt of many jokes in recent years and with the latest ‘stunt’ they are pulling, it’s becoming more difficult to stick up for them.  The Dolphins home opener is Sunday against the Raiders.  At halftime of the game, the Dolphins will three Dolphins fans a chance to win $10,000. Miami Dolphins running back Daniel Thomas has been ruled out of Sunday's game against Oakland because of a concussion, leaving the team with little experience behind starter Reggie Bush.

Do Dolphins have tools to fix woes in red zone?

DAVIE, Fla. In todays NFL, its tough to score in the red zone the area inside the opponents 20-yard line without some basic weapons. Heres the checklist: a head-banging running back, a space-clearing tight end, a wide receiver who can go up and get the ball, a crafty quarterback who is proficient at throwing the fade or the back-shoulder pass, and an offensive line that can...

Miami Dolphins Might Have the Worst Promotion of All Time

The Miami Dolphins, for the second time this year, are hosting a free skin cancer screening event at Sun Life Stadium this Sunday.  Partnered with Melanoma Exposed, they screened nearly 200 fans in June.  They hope to double that number this time around.  They will have a team of dermatologist conducting the screenings and encourage everyone to bring their families to the event...

Terrible Dolphins halftime idea trending on Twitter

The Miami Dolphins probably have the worst PR team in the NFL as it seems they just can’t keep the team out of the tabloids. This afternoon ProFootballTalk.com reported the Dolphins plan on holding a pretty much impossible halftime contest offering $10,000 to a lucky fan if they are able to hit a 60 yard field goal. Most NFL kickers can’t kick it from 60 yards yet the...

Pitiful Picks: Dolphins will win and get Tannehill/Philbin first win

It’s a new Miami Dolphins season and PhinNation’s pitiful picks are back!  Last year we finished right around .500, which was….well, pitiful!  This year, we’re getting started a week late for our full 4 pick format, but we are 1-0.  As difficult as it was, we picked the Texans last week -12.5 to beat the [...]

Houston Texans DE Antonio Smith fined, Miami Dolphins G Richie Incognito not

The person who retaliates is always the one who gets caught, not the person who initiates the transgressions. Such is the case for Houston Texans defensive end Antonio Smith, who was informed he was going to be fined $21K by the NFL for kicking Miami Dolphins G Richie Incognito during last Sunday’s 30-10 Texans victory. Smith however, was not so much disappointed that he...

Oakland Raiders at Miami Dolphins Week 2 NFL Preview

Brett Davis- US Presswire The offense was horrendous, putrid and every other hanus word that is in the dictionary.Yes, I stated that in my recent power rankings, and it should be stated that Darren McFadden hauled in 13 passes in the home loss. Carson Palmer was abysmal although the number won’t state such, but it didn’t help matters that their top targets were inactive. Darius...
