Running back Lamar Miller, the Dolphins' fourth-round pick at No. 97 overall, signed with the team. Terms were not disclosed. Miller rushed for 1,918 yards on 335 carries in 23 career games at the University of Miami, including 13 starts. He joins a Dolphins backfield that includes starter Reggie Bush and second-year man Daniel Thomas. Also on the roster are Jonas Gray, Jerome Messam, Steve Slaton and Marcus Thigpen.

According to the Miami Herald, the Dolphins are expected to begin work on an extension with defensive tackle Randy Starks, as well as possibly cornerback/safety Sean Smith and wide receiver Brian Hartline, in the coming weeks.
