Miami Dolphins left tackle Jake Long has been placed on injured reserve with a right arm injury, meaning he'll miss the team's final game Sunday against the New York Jets. The move Wednesday came one day after Long was chosen a Pro Bowl starter for the third consecutive year. He endured an injury-plagued season, including a back ailment that forced him to miss two games after he started the first 61 games of his career. Long suffered the arm injury in the first quarter of Saturday's loss at New England. To fill Long's spot on the roster, the Dolphins signed running back Richard Medlin from the practice squad. He signed with New England as a rookie free agent in August and was released at the end of training camp.

Miami Dolphins 2012 Pro Bowl Selections

For a 5-10 team it is very surprising that the Miami Dolphins have players elected to the 2012 Pro Bowl.  It's amazing to me that the Dolphins have turned around the season to win 5 out of 8 games.  Too little too late and certainly not enough to see the organization known as the Miami Dolphins change course again in a 4 year span.On Tuesday Brandon Marshall and Jake Long were...

Miami Dolphins’ season finale minor compared to offseason plans

The stuff that Todd Bowles is concerned about this week seems on the surface important because a victory against the hated New York Jets is the first thing on his mind. So he’s worried about Jake Long’s health and making sure his replacement is ready. He’s thinking about how to get the Dolphins to play hard because they didn’t do that in the season finale last year. He’s concerned...

Everything is Coming Down to the Wire

FLORHAM PARK–The Jets no longer control their own destiny, something that frustrates them across the board, but they are doing their best to stay the course and just focus on beating the Dolphins. A win is the only way they retain any hope of a playoff berth — plus a whole lot of help. According to Mark Sanchez, “The No. 1 overall goal is the ball security issues,” he said...
