It may have been a preseason game, but like all football games, there is a winner, a loser and lots of questions to follow.Only problem is the questions mainly surround the Jacksonville Jaguars and the performance they gave on the field. To quote former Arizona Cardinals head coach, Dennis Green, about the Jaguars Friady night, "They were who we thought they were."Well, they were who I thought they were, anyway. This is still a team with lots to work on. Blaming the loss on nine players not suiting up won't help making a case for them. And the Dolphins, who needed this win after losing to Dallas in the Hall of Fame game last week, looked every bit the playoff contending team it should be.Here are a few things we learned from Friday night.* Same old Blaine GabbertHe came out and showed us nothing in the passing game. For all the hype of how he has looked in the preseason and how is "progressing" with the offense, Gabbert looked lost Friday night. The team seemed more in sync with Chad Henne behind center and Mike Kakfa throws a nice pass, but will not get a serious look with this team.* Miami's defense is pretty goodAt times, it looked like a college team was scrimmaging with a high school upstart. There was nothing too undefined about the fact the Dolphins beat the Jaguars, who could not get out of their own way of not being able to move the football or have a drive stalled. That is just good defense.* Dwayne Gratz is a star waiting to happenI liked the way he played in the Jaguars secondary Friday night. Gratz challenged the Miami receivers and got his first career interception in the second quarter. While everyone is talking about Jonathan Cyprien, who has not played at all in training camp because of a injury, Gratz has become the rookie story of camp. It showed with his coverage skills.* Turnovers the keyThe Jaguars lost the tunover batter 4-1. They are a young inexperienced team. But when you turn the ball over four times, chances are you will not win the game. Miami seized opportunities while Jacksonville squandered them.* Sanders was impressiveNo matter how you look at it, Ace Sanders will be the return specialist for this team and looked pretty good Monday night. With his quickness and speed, the former South Carolina star will be a special teams demon this season.
