In the same week as former Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowded was waived, the front office decided to cut ties with fellow inside linebacker Tim Dobbins.
Dobbins was Crowder’s backup last year, and proved serviceable, coming up with 47 tackles and 1 sack in 6 starts last year.
Dobbins was originally given an extension last year during training camp, but it looks like he’s been a cap casualty, getting waived in an attempt to create cap space.
To help fill the void left by both Crowder and Dobbins the Dolphins have veteran free agent Kevin Burnett and backups A.J. Edds and Austin Spitler.
