Coach Tony Sparano said Friday that rookie Pat White will play no other position except quarterback as the offseason program continues over the next two months. Sparano also said he has spent time considering NFL rules about use of quarterbacks on game days. Teams are allowed to have 45 players active for each regular-season game, with another eight on the inactive list. One of those eight usually is a designated third quarterback, who is permitted to enter the game. But if the third quarterback plays before the fourth quarter, the other two quarterbacks cannot play again in that game. Another possibility: keeping Pennington and White active (because White is expected to be used in the Wildcat package), and designating Henne as the third quarterback on the inactive list. In that scenario, if Pennington is injured in the first three quarters and Henne is brought into the game, neither Pennington nor White could play again that day.
