Former New York Giant and free agent receiver Domenik Hixon will visit with the Carolina Panthers on Monday, as the team looks to add another Giant to the roster, according to Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer.
Last week, GM Dave Gettleman went with a player he's pretty familiar with from his time in New York, Chase Blackburn, and now he'll set his sights on Hixon.
Hison, 28, mostly a reserve in New York for 5 seasons, will likely replace Louis Murphy as the no. 3 wideout if signed.
Person writes: 'Hixon, 6-foot-2 and192 pounds, caught 39 passes for 567 yards last season, his most prolific since a 43-reception season in 2008. Hixon has appeared in 61 games with 13 starts and a 13.8 yards-per-catch average.
He was part of two Super Bowl-winning Giants teams. He visited Oakland last week and also has drawn interest from Cleveland and Pittsburgh.'
