The Packers aren’t sure if there are enough balls to go around for Driver, Randall Cobb, Tori Gurley and Diondre Borel. At the end of the day, even though Driver restructured his contract, he’s not guaranteed a spot on the Packers’ 53-man roster.

  • So Ted Thompson is at work again...first stinging along Brett Favre for three months now he's messing around the Donald Driver. Hey Mr. Thompson- we love Donald! He's the one of the best players the Packers have and the most positve diplomat of the team...don't mess with his flawless career like you did Brett's
you can be cut from the team too!!!!!!!!!

  • thompson strung along favre? favre willingly retired you half-wit! thompson has a team to run and he's running it. brett went down the way he did because of brett you childish moron!
  • dont mess with cheeseheadbob, he is the biggest internet tough guy around. He hasnt washed the sand out of his c***t in a long time.
  • I agree cheesehead. Football is a business. When a player's skills start slowing, as Driver's have, then it is time to look toward the up and coming guys. I like Driver. He has done alot for the Pack. But liking a guy (and keeping him on the team) and doing what is best for the team to win may be two different things.
And I agree with you on Favre. Favre has no oone to blame but himself.
  • I love double D and everything he has done in gbay and for the sport. He is a class act like no other. If he makes the team great, but if for some reason he does not then maybe we could keep him in some other capacity. With that said, spicegirl take your head out of your a** and wake up. cmon really???? Thompson stringing along Farve??
  • I still think that if Driver does not make the roster the Packers are damned fools if they let him go ANYWHERE. Make him part of the coaching staff! The guy is good at running routes and making adjustments on the fly, reading coverage, getting his quarterback out of trouble, blocking down field, a good solid player with the talent and experience needed by the youngsters. Ted, don't let that get away from Green Bay. As for Favre; Brent, we hardly knew ya' ;)
  • I know Donald wants to play one more year. If he can end his career with the Pack why not offer him a coaching job? His talent and overall body conditioning speak for themselves. His character as a great family man and service provider to the community, would only solidify his image in GB.
  • The only reason to keep Driver is sentimental. I truly believe
that TT doesn't have a sentimental bone in his body. He runs a business and only trys to make decisions for the good of the team. He's not hitting 100% but he's darn close.
  • You are reading too much into this. Outside of Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews, I doubt there is anyone GUARANTEED a spot on the roster........lighten up folks.
  • I love Donald Driver but players come and go. We had great players in the past and loved them all. Either they retire or just continue their career somewhere else. THey have families too and may want something different for them also. He is a great player and it would be nice to still have him here. But it is his decision too.

Where In The World Is Nick Collins?

Former Packers safety Nick Collins after his touchdown in Super Bowl XLV Just like that, it was over. It was an abrupt and all too soon ending to the career of Nick Collins in Green Bay.  It was a career that gave fans a play in Super Bowl XLV that will be in their memory banks forever and Collins was arguably the best safety the Green Bay Packers have had since Leroy Butler retired...

Driver On His Way Out?

My time is coming T... ProFootball Weekly has discussed the fact the Packers may not be able to retain the service of Donald Driver this season.  The Packers would like to get Randall Cobb more involved in the passing game while developing young talent like Tori Gurley and Diondre Borel. If there was a guy that I would be targeting in Dynasty Leagues right now it would be Randall...

Packers’ McCarthy not over playoff loss to Giants

For the majority of last season, the Green Bay Packers were the toast of the NFL as the defending Super Bowl Champions. They tore through their schedule to achieve an impressive 15-1 record. However, when the playoffs began, they ran into the wrong team at the wrong time. The New York Giants were coming off [...]

Packers’ Donald Driver still has the drive

Whether you rooted for him all season or his boot tapping, thigh slapping free style won you over, Green Bay Packers WR Donald Driver was one of the most enjoyable and entertaining stars to watch on season 14 of Dancing With the Stars. As he held up that Mirrorball trophy alongside partner Peta Murgatroyd, the pure [...]

Green Bay Packers Passing Attack Myth

So the Green Bay Packers have abandoned the run and only pass, correct?  While they pass much more than they run, there are a number of teams that have a higher pass to run ratio than the Packers.   As illustrated by the graphic below, division rival Detroit Lions have a more frequent passing attack than anyone else in the league. The biggest shocker to me is that Tennessee, with...

Hot News for QB Green Bay Packers

Packers confident, humbled, hungry for 2012

Perhaps it's a good thing the Packers won't see the Detroit Lions for the first time next season until Week 11 of the league schedule, which falls on the third weekend of November. What's become a chippy rivalry between the longtime division foes added a new layer for potentially fueling more friction. Lions head coach Jim Schwartz indirectly may have taken a shot at...
